Challenges with the Status Quo

In water systems under pressure additional security systems are often not installed.

In case of corrosion, defects, operator error, vandalism, tear & wear, uncontrolled leaking water leads to costly damage in plant and equipment.

A leakage nearly always begins slowly by dripping causing pitting, miss pressings, material fatigue like cracks in filters, assuming alarming proportions. Then very often it is too late.

For the detection of leaks there are two main approaches in the market today, each with significant downsides.

Usually the valves in both systems are always open. They close only when an alarm occurs.

The aqua IQ system reverses the principle, keeping the valve closed and only opens when consumption is detected.

1. Detection by Water Detector

Detection of leaking water by water detectors is effective and reliable. However the sensors can only be located at selected locations. Cannot monitor the pipe system as a whole.

2. Flow Measurement/Time

Measurement by turbine (flow measure/time) does not allow for accurate results for low flow rates. Due to construction these systems are not able to detect low flow rates and/or affect the water flow significantly.
